Čo: Z účastníkov sa dva debatné tímy, ktoré dostanú možnosť viesť profesionálnu debatu pod dohľadom rozhodcu zo Slovenskej debatnej asociácie.

Unikátna šanca otestovať si svoje diskusné zručnosti a naučiť sa nové rétorické postupy. Právnici majú predsa zlaté hrdlo :)

ELSA Bratislavskej vysokej školy práva v spolupráci s Fakultou práva Bratislavskej vysokej školy práva a s partnermi súťaže Vám ponúkajú možnosť zúčastniť sa 2. ročníka súťaže "Simulovaný súdny spor".

Hlavným cieľom súťaže je umožniť aktívnym študentom preskúšanie ich schopností a možností v síce simulovanom, ale vo všetkých smeroch reálnom prostredí súdneho pojednávania.

Zároveň ponúkame príležitosť porovnať sa v nemalej konkurencii svojich kolegov na fakulte i na úrovni viacerých fakúlt. Pre najlepších sú tiež pripravené hodnotné ceny.

Súťaž je určená pre všetkých študentov práva, ktorí už získali základné vedomosti z oblastí občianskeho práva hmotného, občianskeho práva procesného, obchodného práva a radi by si ich vyskúšali v praxi.

Finále fakultného kola súťaže sa uskutoční v štvrtok 8.4.2010.

ONTRACTUAL IMPLICATIONS

OF REGULATORY BREACHES

The authors should consider the civil law consequences of breaching rules applicable to the conduct of business by regulated entities in connection with entering into contracts.

Rules applicable to the conduct of business include, for example, those setting out obligations of securities dealers vis-a-vis their customers under the laws implementing Directive 2004/39/EC on markets in financial instruments or rules specifying into which kinds of trades an insurance company or an investment fund is permitted to enter.

The authors should especially focus on whether these rules can limit the legal capacity of the relevant regulated entity and whether their breach by the regulated entity can lead to the relevant contract being invalid or to civil law liability for damages.

Conditions of the Regional Student Essay Competition

The authors must be students of master's programmes at one of the law schools in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia on 30 April 2010.

The essays must:

a)      be written on the topic of " Contractual implications of regulatory breaches ",

b)      be in English,

c)      be submitted in typescript,

d)      not exceed 5,000 words.

The essays must be e-mailed to ao-essay@elsa.org by 30 April 2010.

By participating in the competition, authors agree with:

a)      the publishing of their essays through ELSA,

b)      the providing of their essays, names and contact details to the partners of the competition and to the partners of ELSA, and

c)      the conditions of the competition.

The ranking of the essays will be determined by ELSA based on recommendations of a committee of experts chosen by ELSA.

The awarding ceremony will be held in May/June 2010.

The prizes for authors of the winning essays:

1st place: EUR 1,500 + weekend stay in London with a one-day visit of Allen & Overy office

2nd place: EUR 1,000

3rd place: EUR 500

Simulovaný trestný proces ponúka aktívnym a talentovaným študentom práva možnosť preskúšať ich teoretické poznatky, schopnosti a možnosti v simulovanom prostredí trestného súdneho pojednávania.
